What do Katy Perry, Barbara Streisand and that guy from my commercial acting class all have in common?

They all take heart medication for anxiety.

Wait, what?

What’s the difference between an antipsychotic and an antidepressant, and does taking an antipsychotic mean you’re…psychotic? Is depression the only thing that antidepressants are used for?

This week on Anxiety and the Artist, I sit down with psychiatric nurse practitioner Brad Lieberman to unpack the mysteries (and myths) of psychiatric medication.

Brad breaks down what these medications actually do, how they help, and what to watch out for. It’s an honest conversation about tools, choices, and stigma.

I learned some new things, and I’m sure you will too.
