You know the best time to solve all your problems? Right when you go to bed…or at 3am, when there’s no hope that you’ll fall back asleep and wake up in time to start your day...so why not stay up all night and think about all the problems and ruminate! Oh, and then, let's have anxiety about all the sleep you're not getting and how that’s going to affect your day and all the things that will go wrong as a result. Down with sleep! Up with rumination!

I am one of the biggest offenders of this. I have spent a lot of time and effort taking courses and reading books on mindfulness in an attempt to rid myself of this problem. I've done all the things, and yet, I still occasionally fall victim to this completely useless practice. Why? Cause I’m human.

In this month’s episode I explore this very problem with biofeedback coach and performer, Rita Neidich. Rita holds a BM in Vocal Performance from NYU, an MS in Organizational and Performance Psychology from Baruch College, and is a certified biofeedback specialist from BCIA. As a former refugee, she is no stranger to adversity. We discuss how biofeedback can be used as another tool to combat our anxieties, and help us reach our full potential as artists.
